After leading the team to win the runner-up in the women’s basketball World Cup, Zheng Wei stopped serving as the coach of Inner Mongolia Women’s basketball in order to concentrate on coaching Chinese women’s basketball.

In the WCBA finals of the previous two seasons, Inner Mongolia Women’s basketball won the championship successively over Xinjiang Women’s basketball and Sichuan women’s basketball. At present, there are Huang Sijing, Li Yuelu, Yang Liwei, Pan Zhenqi, Zhang Ru and other national players in the Inner Mongolia Women’s basketball team.

Murat, 37 years old, used to be the main player in Xinjiang men’s basketball, and won the second place in the CBA league three times together with Bartel. After his retirement, he served as head coach in Xinjiang Murat youth team in men’s basketball and as assistant coach in Xinjiang Feihu men’s basketball and Xinjiang Shenlu women’s basketball. In 2019, he was selected into the coach team of China Murat in women’s basketball and went through two competitions, Tokyo Olympic Games and 2022 Women’s Basketball World Cup together with the team. During the same period Murat, he also served as the assistant coach of Inner Mongolia Women’s basketball.

The first stage of the WCBA league regular season will start in Fuzhou on November 30.
