Du Feng: In the past two or three years, it has not been easy for all national players, including staff.
Live broadcast on November 7th, China’s men’s basketball coach Du Feng accepted an official interview with the Chinese basketball team today, which talked about the training situation of the national team and the psychological state of the long-term closed training competition.
Q: Please introduce the training situation of the national team this week.
Du Feng: The team came to Guangzhou for closed training on October 31 after they gathered together in the competition area in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province and directly sent the buses of the two hotels to the airport for confluence. After the training, I contacted the Guangdong provincial sports bureau and tested the physiological and biochemical indexes of all the athletes in this team in order to better understand the physical condition of each player, ensure the training for the next period of time. Then we found that some of the players were still tired in the league. For example, we should make some targeted adjustments during the training process, including strengthening nutrition supplement. The training in these days is mainly based on tactical cooperation. There was no confrontation training two days ago. The confrontation training started on the 3rd, and the Guangzhou club was invited to play a teaching match with the team on the 5th, at the same time, he also borrowed small foreign aid Booker from Shenzhen club to participate in the tactical drills.
Q: How do you adjust your mental state and help the players with long-term closed training and intensive competition?
Du Feng: Actually, it’s not just me. In the past two or three years, it has not been easy for all national team members, including staff members, to be in this kind of high-intensity work for a long time, and basically their lives are all working conditions. I think during the closed concentration period, we also talked with these young players more often. Everyone cared about and helped each other, and then included some psychological adjustments, it is to let everyone have no other burden in this kind of high-pressure work. Everyone is very difficult. Everyone understands each other. As long as the country calls, they must overcome all kinds of difficulties and are duty-bound to devote themselves to the process of preparing for the war. Therefore, I am especially grateful to all the athletes, coaches and staff who came here this time. It is very difficult for everyone. We will complete this window task together refueling. I would like to thank all the staff and team members again.
