Owen issued a statement on the “anti-Semitic storm”, which was interpreted by many reporters: he didn’t seem to apologize.
Live Bar, November 3-basketable nets jointly issued a statement with team star Owen and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). The first two donated 500000 dollars to the latter respectively to help promote community education and combat anti-Semitism and prejudice.
Among them, Owen declared as follows:
“I oppose all forms of hatred and oppression and stand firmly with communities that are marginalized and affected every day. I am aware of the negative impact of my post on the Jewish community, and I am responsible. I don’t believe everything said in that book, and the documentary can’t truly reflect my morality and principles. I am a person who learns from all walks of life, and I intend to listen with an open mind. Therefore, from my family and I, we do not intend to hurt any group, race or religious belief, (we) just want to be a beacon of truth and light.”
As for Owen’s statement, the interpretation of many journalists was that he did not seem to choose to apologize to the Jewish community.
