NBA officials wrote: “Smart won this honor in recognition of his continuous support for children with cancer, and he also created many opportunities for student athletes.”
So far this season, Smart has played 18 games, with an average of 11 points, 3.1 rebounds and 7.1 assists, and the Celtics have 16 wins and 4 losses at the top of the league.
