Chris Mannix and Howard Beck, experts in Sports Illustrated, discussed the hottest topics in the league. Should warriors worry about the struggle at the beginning of the season and begin to consider the young talents in the trading team?

Chris Mannix:Howard, the defending champion warrior who has won four NBA championships in recent years, has three future Hall of Fame members in the rotation lineup, starting this week, it can only be regarded as the second team in the Bay Area (crazy call for Kings). The Warrior’s always-tight defense suddenly became full of loopholes. Clay Thompson’s state was uncertain, and the high-quality young talented players in the team did not grow as fast as the warrior management expected. It is true that the season has just begun, but there are also some things to worry about, aren’t there?

Howard Beck: I believe warriors will come up with a solution. It is still too early. Let’s talk about the positive side first. Curry’s performance can be called MVP level. Clay is gradually getting back to state. As for dream green, it has always been very stable. The first five-member group of warriors is still one of the best combinations in the league, but the bench is not good at all. This summer, the Warriors management decided to bid farewell to some veterans-Gary Peyton II, Otto junior-PROTONIC and berica, and handed over the team’s second lineup to Poole, Wiseman, Moody’s and cuminga, this is a disaster. I believe Poole will recover, but what about others? It’s hard to say, how much patience do you think warriors have for these young people?

Chris Mannix: Now this warrior, I feel that it will not be back on track until around Christmas at least. I am very worried about their substitute lineup. You are right. The starting of Warriors is still very strong. If Poole is included, it is six people. I agree that Poole will recover from last season sooner or later. The Warriors of the past few years have always had some players who play the role of adhesive. Igodala played this role for several seasons, and last season it was PROTONIC and Peyton. This season, people hope that there are young players who can play this role to stand up, but I haven’t seen it so far. Now it is the time when Wiseman needs to grow up. Cuminga and Moody’s have not shown the defensive strength to be competent for rotating player roles, at least not this season. What do you think?

Howard Beck: look at it from another angle. Cuminga has played 84 games in NBA, 68 in Moody’s and 50 in wiseman. They all have some brilliant performances in limited roles. However, it should be noted that two of them have not even played 82 matches. In fact, Wiseman is still just a rookie, and he is also the most gifted and advantageous person among the three. The growth rate of each player is different. Some people will break out in the second or third year, while others need more time. Can they become reliable rotation players? I think it’s OK, but I don’t know how long it will take. This is also the dilemma faced by Warrior management and coach teams: We know they have talent, but how long will it take to cash in? How much patience do we have left?

This is the reason why the so-called “new and old alternation” plan of Warriors is a little worrying, and it is also the reason why no team in modern history has ever been able to achieve seamless connection between the old and the new era. It is really difficult to train young players while competing for the championship. Wiseman, Moody’s and cuminga all have talents and can become key players. It’s just that Warriors, considering the age of the core veteran, can they wait for so long? The management should do everything possible to maximize the window period of competition for curry (and clay and Dream Green). If this means that it is necessary to trade one or more young players (or future picks) in exchange for experienced veterans, then I think the warrior management has the obligation to do so. It is not necessarily the present, but it is only November now. If The Warrior bench looks still weak after a month, let’s talk about it. Apart from trading, I don’t know what else warriors can do, what do you think?

Chris Mannix: this is a difficult decision. On the one hand, trading may make warriors less competitive in the West, even the entire alliance. Make an assumption that the Warriors packaged several of Wiseman, cuminga or Moody’s with the right to choose, in exchange for Bill. The Warriors did exchange some players who did not contribute much in the short term for a best team star. Will the competitiveness of the Wizards be weakened after the deal? A few years later, Curry, clay and dream green gradually withdrew from the stage of history, and those young people you gave up may all become all-stars. As for the warrior management you mentioned, I also agree that they need to do everything possible to make use of Curry’s peak period to achieve results. If Warriors still struggle in January, maybe these young people will be put on the negotiation table.

Howard Beck: I appreciate that the warrior management wants to cultivate young people’s warriors and ambitions while competing for the championship. Maybe this is feasible. Counting the four potential team building cornerstones of Poole warriors, perhaps one or two of them can be traded, plus the picks, so warriors may be able to win and look forward to 2025. But if the situation doesn’t get better, a choice must be made. I just want to say go to TM’s future, trade anyone who needs to be traded, and make sure that the playoffs in next June can go far enough. As for 2025, wait until then. In fact, the tricky thing is that it is not clear how much value cuminga, Moody’s and Wiseman have in the trading market, and they do not know what they can get. Wizards have won a lot of goals and are unlikely to be willing to trade bill. Basketable nets seems to have rebuilt with the big three, and the fantasy of Durant seems unrealistic. Warriors may not need another star, one to two stable 3D flanking players are enough. The good news is that I think the young players of warriors are very attractive for rebuilding the team. If the time is right, there will be a deal that can be reached.

Chris Mannix: Well, let me talk about something you don’t like to hear. Is there a possibility that warrior management is unwilling to trade young people anyway? Think about it, Curry will be 35 years old in next March and clay will be 32 years old. No one can say what impact leg injuries will have on Clay’s career life. As for the Dream Green, he can’t stay long in the warrior. Wiseman, cuminga and Moody’s are all Lotto shows, all of which have shown different degrees of potential. Is there a possibility that no matter what happens, general manager Bob Myers will not trade these young people.

Howard Beck: it is indeed possible, but there are only the following two situations: first, several young players suddenly find the feeling that they can make stable contributions in the rotation lineup, no deal is needed to ensure enough competitiveness this season. Second, Curry was kidnapped by aliens.
