Qiao erjievich | The most painful failure in China men’s basketball was made by him.

· In the final of the Athens European basketball championship in 1995, jolevich scored 41 points, which was called by European media: Alexander the Great;

In the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, he once gave China men’s basketball the worst failure of the 1996 Golden Generation, and 67 points were also the biggest net negative points of China’s men’s basketball in international competitions;

· After playing 8 games in NBA, he suddenly announced his return to Europe to join Barcelona in the third-point 7-shot 5;

2 years later, he joined Barcelona’s sworn enemy regardless of the dispute: Real Madrid……

· In the era of coaching, the scoring ability of Qiao erjievich changed his course, believed in the supremacy of defense, and was good at digging the inner potential of players. In his own words: the coach’s duty is to let players stand on their shoulders, touch the Sky……

On November 16, the Chinese Basketball Association officially announced that it would make adjustments to the head coach of China’s men’s basketball national team. Du Feng would no longer serve as the head coach of China’s men’s basketball national team, and at the same time, he would select Serbian Alexander giorgievich as the head coach of China’s men’s basketball national team; the Serbian will lead China to play in the 6th window of the 2023 basketball World Cup qualifier men’s basketball and the 2023 basketball World Cup, striving to lead the team to win the 2024 Paris Olympic Games; there is also an assistant coach and a physical coach who will work with the Chinese coach to form the national men’s basketball coaching team.

In the 1971-1972 season, the Belgrade guerrillas won the championship of the former Yugoslavia League with a strong lineup. The coach at that time was bladislav cholevich.

In every home game, behind the coach seat, there is usually a little boy with basketball in his arms-he is the protagonist of today’s story: Alexander cholevich, born in Belgrade on August 26, 1967, the eldest son of Belgrade guerrilla coach.

No one can predict that this little boy will become a great player or coach in the future, but it can be seen that he is very interested in basketball……

In the 1983-1984 season, 16-year-old jorevich joined the Belgrade guerrillas, and it took only 2 years to grow into the main defender of the national youth team.

In the summer of 1986, 18-year-old fladi Divac chose to join the team of jolevich. Because they were young and energetic, they had never spoken before, but Divac was not stupid–

“I am center, I need a good defender, and the best defender is cholevich, so I’m going to the guerrillas.”

As a result, Belgrade guerrillas welcomed a pair of great duo; Although Divac went to Los Angeles Lakers in 1989, they still had a long way to go in the former Yugoslavia national team.

The 1991-1992 season had special significance in the hearts of Belgrade guerrilla fans. In that year, they became the treble, winning the domestic league, the domestic cup and the European league championship.

8 seconds before the final of the European League final, Belgrade guerrillas fell 2 points behind, and jordevich pushed the ball to the front court, completing the killing with a whistle three points; He contributed 23 points in the whole game.

In the final of Athens European Championship in 1995, jordevich once again ushered in the highlight moment. He scored 41 points in the 12-shot 9 of the three-point goal, helping the former Yugoslavia win the championship by 96:90 victory over Lithuania; this war won him great popularity, that is, from this time on, European media began to call him–

Alexander the Great

It is particularly worth mentioning that the Atlanta Olympics in 1996 gave birth to the Chinese fans who are still talking about–

96 Golden generation; Head coach Gong Luming, members include: Li Xiaoyong, Zheng Wu, Sun Jun, Hu Weidong, Wu Qinglong, Wu naiqun, Liu Yudong, Gong Xiaobin, Shan Tao, li Nan, 21-year-old Bartel and 17-year-old Wang Zhizhi;

These names, which have now become CBA legends, have entered the top 8, creating the best record of China’s men’s basketball Olympic Games.

In that year, Zheng Xiaolong, Zheng Wu’s son, was just born; 26 years later, Zheng Xiaolong had become a professional player, and people gave the nickname: Qi Qi long, currently playing for the Bay Area pterosaurus.

If it hadn’t been for the fact that Qiao erevich is now the new head coach of China’s men’s basketball, it might not have been remembered that at the Atlanta Olympics, the former Yugoslavia team led by Qiao ergewich and Divac took 128 in the 1/4 final: 61 gave China men’s basketball the worst defeat in the international competition.

Young fans may say that China lost men’s basketball to the former Yugoslavia because Divac and chilevich were too powerful during the peak period, but in fact, the core duo of the former Yugoslavia did not play much in that match at all–

Divac only scored 5 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 1 snatch in 18 minutes, and joerevich only scored 4 points, 6 assists and 1 snatch in 16 minutes. In the first half, he punched in and got off work in advance after outscore, their score was less than that of Zheng Wu, who contributed 6 points in 17 minutes; The rest of the time was basically the replacements data brush.

The strength gap between the top 8 Olympic Games and the runner-up can be seen.

The final of the former Yugoslavia and the American Dream Team three is real–

Divaz was held to death by a group of NBA superstars, and 5 of the 6 shots were out of the game; Qiao erjievic did play normal, 8 shots 4 contributed 13 points to the second highest of the team plus 5 rebounds 6 assists 1 steals.

After the end of the Olympic Games, jolevich received the offer contract from Atlanta Eagle and Portland Trail Blazers at the same time; He hoped to partner with Avidas Sabonis, so he chose the Trail Blazers without hesitation.

On November 29, 1996, Qiao erjevich ushered in the first NBA show; In 8 NBA games, he scored 25 points in total, and scored 5 out of 7 three-point shots, he decided to return to Europe to join Barcelona at the end of December because he was not used to playing time and was limited to 7.6 minutes.

Although Joel jevich and Sabonis did not cooperate for a long time, they became good friends on the card table.

When talking about their friendship, Qiao erjevich recalled–

“I went to Portland because of Sabonis. It was very interesting to get along with him. He once taught me the card ways to play in Lithuania. He probably didn’t know the specific name of the way to play. He said it was called card. We became best friends. When I left, his heart was broken.”

When he came to Spain from NBA, the confidence of the newly arrived jolevich was very high, and he made a bold speech to the media–

“I am the leader Barcelona needs!”

At that time, he had the capital to say such a thing, because in his curriculum vitae, besides NBA experience, there were also–

European League champion (1992),2 European basketball players (1994,1995),2 Former Yugoslavia League Champions (1987,1992), three consecutive Italian League All-Star (1992~1994), Italian League All-Star MVP(1994), Italian league Net blazer champion (1994), former Yugoslavia’s annual best player (1995)……

On January 3, 1997, giorevich made his Barcelona debut. He scored 13 points, including 8 points at the critical moment, to win the team. On the second day, the headline title of Spain’s “sport of the world” was–

Cholevich won!

That year, he fulfilled his promise to help Barcelona win the Spanish championship championship.

In 1999, giorgenich helped Barcelona win the championship again, but the latter did not provide him with a contract extension.

Without saying anything, jorgenich turned around and threw himself into the embrace of Barcelona’s sworn enemy, Real Madrid.

In 2000, he helped Real Madrid beat the old club Barcelona and won the third Spanish Championship Championship in the Spanish championship finals.

In 2005, Qiao erjievich retired and began his legendary coaching career the following year–

He has successively coached top European clubs such as Milan in Italy, panaxinakos in Greece, Bayern Munich in Germany, and Fenerbahce;

In terms of the national team, he once led Serbia to win the runner-up of the 2014 World Cup, the runner-up of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and the runner-up of the 2017 European Championship. He was named the top 50 contributor in Europe by the Champions League in 2008.

It is worth mentioning that the only person who won the Olympic Games, World Championships and European Championships as a player and head coach respectively.

Generally speaking, as a coach, joerevich has achieved success in both the club and the national team, with rich coaching experience and advanced European basketball concepts.

However, since he had never taught in China before, how much he knew about Chinese basketball and Chinese players and whether he could have a chemical reaction with Chinese men’s basketball was a problem that the outside world was worried about;

We may be able to find some clues from the English public information currently available……

After changing coach, Qiao erjievich, who was good at shooting, changed course and began to believe in the supremacy of defense. His reason was–

“Mike D’Antoni was once the best defensive player in the history of Italian basketball, but he played a running boom after he became a coach. I prefer winning, but winning can only rely on strong defense. Attack can make you win some games, but defense can bring you champions and medals. Defense depends largely on attitude and discipline. Although I was not a defensive player in the past, I am definitely a player who obeys tactical discipline.”

In terms of training players, Qiao erjievic also has great experience–

“Self-confidence is a necessary ability for players. As a coach, you must use various means to help players exert their maximum potential on the court, sometimes chatting, inspiring, or making them realize their mistakes. I am the kind of coach who will support the players, I believe that the coach’s duty is to let the players stand on their shoulders and touch the sky……”
